Massey Curling Back to Back Champs!

WECSSAA Curling finals took place at Roseland February 25th with Massey taking double gold for the second straight year.

On the boys side, Massey skip John Guttmann led his team of Kyle Henderson, Dave Renaud, Greg Bogl, Mike D'Amore, Nick Robinson and Holden Burdett to a second consecutive WECSSAA gold medal beating Holy Names 10-3.   Tied 3-3 at half, Massey took 3 points in the 5th to break away the lead. 

Massey Girls also took back-to-back gold medals, led by skip Rachel Katzman along with Margeaux Way, Olivia Ridpath, Riley Beach and Megan Roy.  The ladies defeated St. Joe's  9-3.

In SWOSSAA curling action on Friday February 27th in Blenheim, the Massey girls won SWOSSAA gold for the second year in a row!  After a solid 11-4 win against Ridgetown DSS the ladies fought to the last rock defeating Chatham DSS 7-6. Skip Rachel Katzman made a tough draw requiring a dramatic measurement to decide the champion!  On the boys side, the Mustangs defeated John Macgregor 11-4 and lost to Chatham skip Tye Juniper 8-4. Massey and Chatham will advance to OFSAA  in Trenton March 9-12.
