Please see notice below regarding free oral health services offered by Windsor Essex County Health Unit.
The oral health of children and youth is important to us. With school oral health screening postponed due to COVID-19, we want to make sure parents/guardians are aware of the oral health services offered by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU). The WECHU offers the following oral health services:
An oral health screening will identify oral health problems early, so that children/youth can receive the necessary treatment from an oral health care provider to prevent further issues. An oral health screening does not replace a comprehensive oral health examination. Children and youth from eligible families will receive free oral health care through the Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO) program.
Parents/guardians can call us to book an appointment for their child. We offer both virtual and in-person appointments at our oral health clinics. Our Leamington office is open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our Windsor office is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Parents/guardians can call our Oral Health Hotline at 519-258-2146 ext. 1199 to learn more about the oral health services we provide or to book their child’s oral health screening appointment.
We look forward to assisting you in achieving and maintaining optimal oral health, once the Ministry of Health provides further direction to public health units across Ontario.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the health and well-being of the children and youth in Windsor and Essex County.
Thank you to our Parent Council for helping to purchase popcorn for our "virtual movie field trip" today! What a great way to kick off our Spring Break!
