Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! I am excited to be returning to Harrow Public School - Home of the Hornets! I look forward to reconnecting with the students, meeting new students, families and staff of HPS. We are partners in your child's education. Each person is a unique and valuable member of our Hornet family.  This year, we will continue to promote our idea that having a growth mindset is the first step in achieving goals! We are continuing to focus on building strong character traits with students this year, with a specific focus on kindness and integrity.

It is important to celebrate our success and overcome our challenges through our continued hard work and dedication. Our school focus this year continues to build on last year's goal of improved achievement in Mathematics. As a staff, we are committed to learning about and using strategies that meet a variety of learning styles and levels in our classrooms. We are actively engaged in learning about Measurement from K-8, at the Board and school levels. Professional development will occur for staff at all grade levels during Ministry PD and school based PD. We are committed to being a community of learners at every level. At the Greater Essex County District School Board we are committed to building tomorrow together, every learner, every day.

Ongoing communication is one of the keys to a successful year and with so many communication choices, we are able to deliver our messages in a variety of ways. Please check our web site for updates and follow us on twitter as we share good news, learning and events. You can follow us at #HPSVP. We invite parents to sign on to EDSBY, our new on-line communication tool. We will continue to use synervoice to call families in the evening with school reminders and updates. Newsletters and most notes coming home will be sent to your email address. If you have changed your email address, please notify the office.

Please know that my door is always open and you are welcome to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

At Harrow Public School, we start off each day with the following words: Work hard, play fair, and be kind to everyone...
