The Kennedy Mathematics Department is planning to start a Math Club in the near future. The basis for this club would be to work with students who have a higher level of interest in mathematics, for the following purposes:
- To prepare the students for upcoming mathematics contests; &
- To solve problems of interest which are not contained in the normal mathematics curriculum.
If your child is interested in learning further mathematics outside of normal classroom time, please encourage your child to join this club in order to utilize their mathematics potential and level of interest to the greatest possible degree.
Further information regarding dates/times will be worked out shortly; however, your child would work in a small group setting under the supervision of a teacher, for the purpose of extending their mathematics knowledge beyond that acquired in the normal classroom setting. Please check the KCI website, or contact your child’s math teacher for further details. Upcoming mathematics contests are scheduled as follows:
- Grades 9, 10, & 11 in February; &
- Grade 12 in April.
