Whether in the back yard, playing soccer on the field or building forts in the forest we are all susceptible to becoming a ticks dinner choice.  Please inspect your children and family pets regularly to make sure ticks are not present or removed.  While generally ticks are harmless pests certain species do present as carriers of pest borne illnesses and need to be treated as a health concern.

At KPS we ask students to inform the office if a tick is found.  We will always call homes of students that have come to the office to inform us.  Identified dog ticks have been discovered on KPS students.   If possible we collect the specimen for identification.
