Tick Season is Upon Us

Spring to Fall brings Ticks.  Know the difference between ticks and stay safe.

Whether in the back yard, playing soccer on the field or building forts in the forest we are all susceptible to becoming a ticks dinner choice.  Please inspect your children and family pets regularly to make sure ticks are not present or removed.  While generally ticks are harmless pests certain species do present as carriers of pest borne illnesses and need to be treated as a health concern.

At KPS we ask students to inform the office if a tick is found.  We will always call homes of students that have come to the office to inform us.  Identified dog ticks have been discovered on KPS students.   If possible we collect the specimen for identification.

More tech on its' way!

Following our EDDK Fundraiser, KPS sought to put the funds raised into action for our students.  One half of all money raised through the sales of the EDDK Gift Certificates was earmarked for technology.  Students in 7/P helped collect and analyze some school-wide data with regards to needs and wants of staff and students.  While KPS does very well when it comes to the student/device ratio, it is often necessary to replace old devices or add to our existing inventory.

Results of our inquiries indicated that many iPads would soon be “retired”, meaning they would be removed from the system due to their age and/or ability to keep up with new operating systems.  Another tool always in high demand – Chromebooks!

After careful consideration, and with the knowledge that money goes quickly, KPS was able to purchase 10 New iPads and 4 New Chromebooks.  On top of this, our primary classes will be the happy recipients of additional OSMO bases, allowing more students can access these awesome learning tools.

KPS would like to thank Eat, Drink, Dine Kingsville for their continued support of our school!

Reusable Water Bottle for sale $2 at Tuck Cart

Hi KPS Cobras

You all know that this year we installed a water bottle filling station at the main office.  Our funds only allowed for one installation this year ($2100.00!).  We wanted to provide families with an option for their children to fill water bottles.

For $2 you can purchase our reusable water bottles (hand wash only) on School Cash online or at the Tuck cart starting this Friday!
