A Message from Our Principal, Mr. Brown
Greetings from Marlborough Public School! This year marks my 31st year as a teacher in Windsor and Essex County, and I still get excited to return to school each September! That’s the great thing about teaching – each year is new and fresh, and each year I learn more and more from our students, our parents and our staff! I really am looking forward to this year!
For those of you who are new to the school, you are about to join an awesome community of learners. Currently we have approximately 360 students registered at Marlborough, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Our school also offers specialized classroom settings for students with identified learning exceptionalities! Our dedicated staff are very much prepared to support all learning needs and continue to strive to meet the needs of every individual learner.
Students at Marlborough have many opportunities to get involved in their school. Throughout the year our staff provide opportunities for students grow mentally and physically through some of the following activities:
Soccer                         Instrumental Music               Dance
Cross Country              Dramatic Theatre                  Art Club
Volleyball                     Talent Show                         Culinary Program
Basketball                    Band                                   Chess Club
Track and Field             Choir                                   Eco Team
In addition to the classroom curriculum, Marlborough Public School provides our students with an annual outdoor education opportunity, usually in the fall. Our Grade 7 and 8 students camp out overnight at Gesstwood Camp located in Essex Ontario and learn leadership skills by running events for our younger students as well as challenging themselves and learning how to work as a team through the ROPES program. Students in grades JK through Grade 6 each visit the camp for one day as part of this unique to Marlborough program.
Finally, I would like to extend an invitation for our parents to become involved in our school’s Parent Council. We meet once per month to discuss the things that are happening at the school, to provide parents an opportunity to voice their ideas, comments and concerns, and to work together to provide a positive and productive learning environment. If you would like to become involved, please contact the school for information regarding our upcoming meetings.  Elections are held for the position of President, Secretary and Treasurer of Parent Council each September, so if that interests you, please look for notices to come home in the beginning weeks of this school year.
Please contact myself or our Vice Principal, Mr. Palazzolo, at any time should you require any assistance or information about what is going on at Marlborough.
Best wishes for a GREAT year!
Mr. Ron Brown
