Reaching Out

Hello Parents and Students,

This is usually a time where I am excited to welcome back your children to our school after a restful March Break.  Although this is not happening, I would like to reach out to each of you during this confusing time.  I am sure you are all finding unique ways to cope and understand the situation.  Our staff are thinking of you and your children and we are all looking forward to connecting at the school as a community once again.

Our Board has updated our website with information and resources while your children are home.  In addition, the Ministry of Education has information for parents and students. I will also be placing this information on this site.  Please check www.publicboard.ca for any up to date information.

At Northwood, I will also have the School Talk option open for students to share their learning.  It may be artwork, math work or a writing piece.  I am hoping this will allow us to stay connected during this difficult time.  We will continue to experiment with different ways to keep connected.

We are an amazing multi-cultural community where students, staff, parents and community partners come together to create an environment where children feel safe. We come from around the world and take care of each other.  I am extremely proud of this community and it will be a struggle for myself and the staff to not be a part of your child learning each day.  It is this sense of community, acceptance of others and kindness that will allow us to come out stronger.

Once again check our Board’s website for any up to date information and I will also be re-posting information on this site.

I wish everyone peace during this confusing time and I am sending positive thoughts to all of you and your families.  Remember at Northwood, we are “True North Strong”.  We will be thinking of you often!

Sincerely,

Rob Romano

Principal
