Learning Outside of the Classroom!

In late October, Ms Noble's JK/SK, Ms Gagnon's Grade 1/2 and Miss Radke's Grade 2 classes enjoyed a field trip to Thiessen's Pumpkin Patch in Leamington. The children learned about the growing cycle of the pumpkin and some other interesting facts. Did you know that pumpkins were originally from Mexico? The corn maze was amazing, and Farmer Pete's playground was a lot of fun. The wagon ride was pulled by a tractor and the students each picked out their own pumpkin to bring home. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who came with us on this wonderful fall field trip!
Also in late October, the Intermediate students enjoyed an exciting learning experience on Fighting Island!  Students looked through microscopes at various water and soil samples and engaged in a variety of inquiries throughout the day.  Although it was a wet day, it was a fantastic day!
