On November 11th, Parkview School showed their appreciation for fallen soldiers and soldiers presently serving our country.
The whole school gathered in the gym and watched an assembly held by the Grade 6,7, and 8 classes. It began with the poem, "In Flander's Field," performed by Grade 6.
Our students also produced videos describing what makes children at Parkview feel safe, and the sacrifices they would make for continued safety. Our students watched a video about the "Highway of Heroes." This was followed by a moment of silence, and the playing of "Last Post."
As our guests and students left the gym, they walked through our very own "Hallway of Heroes created by the grade 7 and 8 students. Each class hung their custom made wreaths on the crosses at the end of the hall.
Overall, the students and staff members came together and were reminded to be thankful for our freeedom and safety each and every day. The ceremony was a great success.
