KDHS Goes from Great to Excellent!
Mrs. I'Anson's Grade 10 English class was mentored by Mr. Daudlin s Grade 10 Construction class in this Great to Excellent project. Based on the requirement to read for meaning, the Grade 10 English class built a model of a cabin described in their literature. The construction students mentored their peers by sharing their knowledge in the shop and inviting their friends to experience the Tech Zone at Kingsville District High School.

Kingsville Sculptures
KDHS Student, Matt Roughton worked in Mr. Doey’s Manufacturing shop for the first time this semester and produced a metal garden sculpture of an eagle in memorandum of the passing of his father as part of his Grade 12 Visual Arts FSE.  Another Visual Arts Student, Danielle Wise focused on the ancient art of Japanese Bonsai trees and worked in wire as her medium to create a Bonsai tree sculpture on display for our Grade 8 night.

Dragster Day of Champions

The TechZone was at it again! On a snowy January 16th, the local grade 8 classes from Kingsville Public School, Harrow Public School and Jack Miner Public School attended the Dragster Day of Champions at Kingsville District High School where each school’s top 10 teams competed in a race with dragsters they had created with the help of KDHS Tech Zone Teachers, Mr. Osborne, Mr. Doey, Mr. Daudlin, and their classroom teachers. This was no simple affair, nor did it take only one day! This was a lengthy process. The dragsters were drafted according to detailed specifications at each school and then cut out in the wood shop at KDHS. Dragsters were then decorated by the students at their home schools. The Tech Team from KDHS visited the elementary schools for preliminary races and the winning teams advanced to the final level: The Dragster Day of Champions! These students were treated to a barbecue lunch courtesy of the TechZone at Kingsville District High School and then the races began! This amazing journey of creative and technical accomplishment could only have come from the vision of Mr. Osborne and the hard work of the Tech Department, the Tech students at KDHS, and all the Grade 8 students and teachers from our local elementary schools! Thanks to all who participated and congratulations to the team from Harrow Public School who were this year's winners.
