Enhanced Construction Program

While attending the Enhanced Construction Program, they learn all of the necessary skills to have a competitive edge on a construction site, as well as receive certification in the essential health and safety courses to keep them safe on a job site. The ECP covers general shop safety and participants learn how to do basic layouts, some formwork, drywall, steel stud framing and the operation of equipment such as forklifts and articulating booms. In addition, safety training covers working at heights, confined space awareness and hoisting and rigging.

While onsite for construction-related courses, the GECDSB also supplies math and English teachers to ensure students receive all the necessary credits to graduate on time and receive their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
