English @ BRDHS

Grade 8 Night Flyer

Welcome to Belle River High School's English Page! English is a unique subject in that it is required throughout a student's four years of high school. This is because language can be a powerful tool and students can use it to develop their ideas in order to make sense of our world and all it has to offer! Our courses are designed to use a variety of strategies to support all learners with a priority on developing the oral communication, reading, writing, and media literacy skills they will need for success in their secondary school programs, their daily lives, and in any journey they follow beyond high school. In each year, students are exposed to a variety of texts (written, oral, graphic, and visual) that will enable them to become both critical thinkers and insightful learners.
