Medical Pathways Day

Thank you, community partners and BRDHS Alumni, for supporting our “Exploring Medical Pathways” Event with our Future Nobles!

  • Dr. McDermid from Belle River Optometry,  who is also BRDHS Alumni, shares information about how to become an eye doctor. 
  • Mrs. Kassian, Head of the BRDHS Physical Education Department, shows students how to utilize a blood pressure monitor. 
  • Dr. Gramisteanu, Dentist and BRDHS Alumni, shares information about what he does in his role. 
  • Mander Matharu, owner of BR Imaging, shares how equipment is used to get information about the inside of the body. 
  • Dr. Bracken, Chiropracter at Active Living Chiropractic, shares information about the vertebrae and his career pathway.
  • Mr. Pula, Head of Social Sciences and the Environment SHSM, discusses the role of food in a person’s health and students plant seeds in the school’s greenhouse.
  • Erin Hodgson, from Windsor Regional Hospital, spoke to students about all of the many conventional and unconventional career opportunities in a hospital setting.    
  • John Andukonus, paramedic, allows students to get inside the ambulance to see all of the features.

Attention Parents and Guardians:
The Greater Essex County District School Board’s Parent Involvement Committee (GECPIC) is accepting applications for parent/guardian members for the 2025 - 2026 school year.

The purpose of the Greater Essex County Parent Involvement Committee (GECPIC) is to support, encourage and enhance parent involvement at the Board level to support improved student achievement and well-being. The Greater Essex Country District School Board supports the vision of parents/guardians as both valued partners and active participants in their children’s education.

The Greater Essex County Parent Involvement Committee shall achieve its purpose by:
• Providing information and advice on parent/guardian engagement to the Board;
• Communicating with and supporting school councils of the Board; and
• Undertaking activities to help parents/guardians of pupils of the Board support their children’s learning at home and at school.

The Greater Essex County Parent Involvement Committee currently meets on the fourth Tuesday of October, November, January, February and May. Meetings are scheduled from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Additional information about GECPIC can be found on our website.

Applications for GECPIC membership for the 2025-2026 school year will be completed on-line. The deadline for application is Friday, May 30, 2025. Application Form is available in Arabic, Chinese, French and Spanish as well:
