The September 2, 2026 Professional Activity Day will focus on building a strong foundation for consistent, high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and evaluation across GECDSB. Educators will engage in professional learning connected to the Board’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan, school improvement planning, key Ministry initiatives, and system priorities that support student achievement and well-being. Aligned with the Ministry of Education’s Consistent Classroom Delivery priorities, learning will include updates to assessment and evaluation requirements under Bill 101 and Growing Success, implementation of Edwin, and curriculum updates. Educators will also review upcoming provincial expectations related to secondary assessment and evaluation, attendance and participation, and the Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement. Through collaborative learning and planning, staff will strengthen their understanding of curriculum expectations, instructional resources, and evidence-based practices to ensure engaging, equitable, and consistent learning experiences for all students across GECDSB. Educational Support Staff ESS will complete Brightspace Training modules during the introduction to Edwin and School Improvement Planning time. At all other times, ESS will be engaging in learning with the school time. PSSP Staff from the Psychologist team, Speech and Language team, Behaviour Team, Social Work team and the Open Minds team, Create Your Future Advisors will receive additional information from their supervisors regarding expectations for the day |
