COVID-19 International Students Protocol
Due to COVID-19 health and safety procedures, international students, their families and agents must read the International Student Protocols for Pre-Departure, Travel and Arrival into Canada before arriving into Canada. Please check back often as government requirements can change.
You can also view the Government of Canada's COVID-19 Guide for International Students in Canada Arriving from Abroad for more information on what to know before leaving your country. The GECDSB is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) approved to welcome international students.
Quarantine requirements
With the Government of Canada's quarantine requirements for international travelers, our MLI Homestay partner and their host families will provide quarantine services to incoming students from abroad. Host families' quarantine locations are safe, secure and supervised while you prepare for your studies in Canada.
About our schools
At GECDSB, we warmly welcome all international students to any of our 55 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools. We offer a wide range of academic programs and learning opportunities, including English as a second language (ESL), the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme, and much more.
We also offer supports in mental health and well-being, as well as athletics and sports to complement a well-rounded, enriched and fulfilling educational experience.
Our international students enjoy great opportunities to enhance their language skills and explore Canada's diverse culture in a welcoming community. Students take part in classroom learning where they work together, ask questions and even participate in many experiences outside the classroom and in the greater community.
