Ruby Rivington and Cole Foster

It is our pleasure to introduce the Greater Essex County District School Board’s 2025-2026 Student Trustees!

Ruby Rivington from Walkerville Collegiate Institute has been elected to represent the Board’s city secondary school population and Cole Foster from Essex District High School has been elected to represent the Board’s county secondary school population.

Ruby Rivington

Ruby Rivington is a grade 12 student at Walkerville Collegiate Institute.

Ruby has been a member of Walkerville’s student council, AGORA, for four years. She was the school’s Deputy Prime Minister for the 2024-2025 school year and was a Student Senator prior to being elected Student Trustee. She was inspired after attending her first Student Senate meeting in Grade 10 and plans to use her platform to amplify student voices and advocate for better school environment in all GECDSB schools.

Ruby is a part of the Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts Vocal Program. Outside of school, she sings competitively and enjoys cooking and being active.

Cole Foster

Cole Foster is a Grade 11 student at Essex District High School.

Cole is Deputy Prime Minister of Essex District High School and strives for excellence in education and extracurricular activities. One of Cole’s priorities for his term is to work with Senior Administration to make the Grade 8 to Grade 9 transition a positive experience for students.  In his spare time, Cole likes to run, swim, and read.

Cole hopes to effectively lead Student Senate and contribute to making the student experience the best it can be.
