Riverside Athletes Sign with Colleges Across the United States

We were invited to Riverside Secondary School to watch a signing event with three students who have accepted athletic offers from schools in the United States. Congratulations to Brooke, Tate and Jayne! Keep reading to learn more about these fantastic Riverside students.

November 2023: Student of the Month

The Student of the Month for November is Hudson Trudeau, a Grade 11 student at Tecumseh Vista Academy. Hudson is an outstanding role model for this month’s theme of School Spirit.

Eastview Horizon Public School Celebration of Completion

Students, staff, families and community members from the new Eastview Horizon Public School gathered to celebrate the completion of their new school on November 8th, 2023.

Construction for the new school began in May of 2021. Some unavoidable delays led to an adjustment in the timeline for opening, but the GECDSB was thrilled to welcome students into this state-of-the-art facility in September 2024.

Remembrance Day is a solemn occasion.

We are asked, in fact I believe we are obliged, to remember the sacrifices of so many people who served and those who continue to serve in conflicts and crises around the world and here in Canada.

How do we remember those who we did not know or hostilities that occurred decades before we were born?

Many of us don’t have direct recollections of World Wars. Few have firsthand knowledge of the Korean conflict or peacekeeping missions in Cyprus, Egypt or Cambodia....
