The two main topics for the half day of learning include: Tackling Racism and Keeping Schools Safe
The session will focus on Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy with connections to the principles of Safe and Accepting Schools Framework. The core values of the framework include safety, respect, equity and inclusion. Several policy program memorandums will be highlighted throughout the learning including the Code of Conduct, Bullying Prevention and Intervention, Progressive Discipline and Suspension and Expulsion. The focus of the learning is to help every student feel safe, respected with a true sense of belonging. Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy is not a separate initiative; it is the foundation for creating environments where safety, inclusion and learning thrive together. CRRP is not an add-on but rather the foundation of keeping schools safe, welcoming and equitable. CRRP gives us the “how”- the practical way we bring those expectations to life in every classroom, every day.
The title of the session is Safe, Seen, Successful. |
