Student and Family Support Office

Welcome to the Greater Essex County District School Board's Student and Family Support Office. The purpose of this office is to support parents, guardians and caregivers in raising concerns, receiving help and finding solutions.

Our dedicated team will make every effort to acknowledge receipt of your email within 48 hours and address your request or concern within 5 business days. Information on how to bring a concern forward can be found in the steps below.

If your matter relates to administrative, operational or technological concerns (such as updating contact information, access to Edsby or employment), these are not handled through the Student and Family Support Office. For these requests, please contact the front office of your child's school or reach out to the Greater Essex County District School Board Administration office at 519-255-3200.

Where to start

Number 1

If your question or concern stems from your child's classroom or school and you have not yet connected with the teacher or principal, we encourage you to take this step before contacting the Student and Family Support Office. You can learn more about this process through our Parent/Guardian to School Communication Protocol.

Next Steps

Number 2

If you feel your question or concern should be escalated beyond the school principal, Student and Family Support Office staff can help connect you with the appropriate Superintendent. You can initiate this process by completing the Student and Family Support Office Form or dialing 519-255-3200 ext. 10289. When you reach out, please be sure to provide the student's name, school name and a detailed description of your question or concern so we can direct your inquiry to the appropriate person or department.
