7-year-old Pokémon prodigy heading to Hawaii for world championship tournament

7-year-old Brantley Meharg, a student at Amherstburg Public School in Mrs. Garneau's grade 2 classroom is heading to Hawaii for the 2024 Pokémon World Championships.

Ontario Expanding Glenwood and Roseland Public Schools

The Ontario government is investing a total of $7.6 million in the Greater Essex County District School Board's Glenwood Public School and Roseland Public School, as announced by Andrew Dowie, MPP for Windsor-Tecumseh. 

Specifically the GECDSB will receive $3.7 million to support the creation of 184 new student spaces at Glenwood Public School and $3.9 million to support the creation of 184 spaces at Roseland Public School.

The Student of the Month for May is Kai Qin, a Grade 12 student at Vincent Massey Secondary School, an excellent role model for the theme of “volunteerism”.

Kai has completed over 500 community service hours for various causes such as Habitat for Humanity, Windsor Public Library, Art in the Park, Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network, Canadian Association for Girls in Science STEAM Camp, and the University of Windsor Pronoun Panel.
