New North Shore School

In November 2015, the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB) was awarded a grant of $15.3 million for the construction of a new school in Tecumseh. In 2022 the GECDSB was awarded an additional $7.2 million for this project. This new school will replace the current D.M. Eagle Public School and serve students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 within the Tecumseh and Lakeshore areas.

Land acquisition

The Board has acquired a 5.79 acre site in Tecumseh to build the new school. The property is located north of Tecumseh Road in Tecumseh, and just west of Arlington Blvd., near the current site of D.M. Eagle Public School.
