Essex District High School

Staff and students celebrate the construction of the new Essex District High School after a long-awaited project completion in 2015.

James L. Dunn Public School

The GECDSB built James L. Dunn Public School to help meet increased demands for French Immersion programming in the City of Windsor. This school replaced Giles Campus French Immersion Public School.

Leamington District Secondary School

Ambition and pride fueled the rebuild of the new Leamington District Secondary School, completed in 2017.

Legacy Oak Trail Public School

The Greater Essex County District School Board has built a new elementary school in LaSalle to replace Prince Andrew Public School. The name of the new school is Legacy Oak Trail Public School.

North Star High School

North Star High School consolidated General Amherst and Western Secondary. The school opened in September of 2022. 

Tecumseh Vista Academy

Learn how the Tecumseh Vista Academy expansion project, completed in 2016, made room for their growing secondary school population and celebrated their first graduating class of 2016.

W.C. Kennedy

The ninety-one-year-old W.C. Kennedy Collegiate building received a $5 million dollar facelift completed in 2020. Many renovations restored the school's outward appeal which stands guard over Jackson Park in Windsor.

W.F Herman

In 2015, W.F. Herman Secondary School was given a major renovation. To accommodate for growing communities, the GECDSB created a JK to Grade 12 school.

West Gate Public School

The new West Gate Public School was formed through the amalgamation of J.E. Benson Public School and Dr. H.D. Taylor schools. The project was completed in 2014.

Westview Freedom Academy

Extensive renovations made to Westview Freedom Academy were completed in October 2015.
