Cheryl Lovell is a Trustee at the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB), representing the Municipality of Leamington and Pelee Island.
Cheryl is a retired teacher with 33 years’ experience with the GECDSB, and a former trustee, previously serving for 12 years on the board.
It is Cheryl’s belief that public education has the ability to transform lives by raising the potential of all children and strengthening the families within our communities.
One of her priorities is to ensure safe environments where all students, staff and community members know they are accepted, respected and feel comfortable in their surroundings.
To accomplish this, it will be necessary to work towards increased and sustained collaboration between the board and all levels of government.
Cheryl and her husband live in Windsor and are both graduates of the board and the University of Windsor. They have two adult children and two grandchildren, one graduated from and one currently attending school within the GECDSB.
