Gale Hatfield is the Chairperson of the Board at the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB), representing Windsor Wards 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Gale Hatfield

Gale Hatfield

First elected - 1991

Gale Hatfield was educated in the Windsor public school system and has a Master’s Degree from the University of Windsor.  She taught at the University and St. Clair College for many years in Sociology and Political Science after her career in public housing management.

As a long-time advocate for quality public education, Gale believes that the priority must be to provide every student with meaningful opportunities for success through effective programs, efficient services and safe, supportive classrooms.  With the continuous challenge of limited resources, Gale endorses the need for clearly identified strategic priorities which are developed in consultation with our education and community partners.

Gale’s two children are proud graduates of Riverside Secondary School and she now has six grandchildren attending elementary schools within the Greater Essex County District School Board.
